I would like you all to meet the newest member of our In Motion Team, Dr. Kirsten Heath.
Dr. Heath is originally from Michigan where she attended the University of Michigan and acquired her Bachelor of Science in Movement Science in 2010. She then moved to Florida to attend the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2014 with high honors. Since then Kirsten has become certified in Functional Movement Screens (FMS) and Y-Balance Testing (YBT) and enjoys helping individuals predict and subsequently prevent injury. She also has a passion for orthopaedic physical therapy and is currently furthering her skills and knowledge in this area through the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences’ Orthopaedic Residency. Kirsten enjoys treating all aspects of the body and especially enjoys working with patients that have had unsuccessful treatment elsewhere. On a more personal note, she resides in St. Augustine with her husband and two cats and enjoys playing soccer, tennis, swimming, surfing and kayaking.
Dr. Heath will be taking on aquatic therapy and assisting our aquatic patients one on one in the pool to achieve functional goals that otherwise could not be accomplished on land.
We are very excited to have Kirsten with us at In Motion and hope you all give her a big warm welcome!
