A Little Bit About Each of Us
Dr. Joanna Frantz, PT, MSPT, DPT

Dr. Frantz is the owner of FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers of Jacksonville and a practicing Physical Therapist. Joanna holds both a Doctoral and Masters degree from Washington University School of Medicine, Program in Physical Therapy, ranked as the #1 Physical Therapy Program in the United States. Joanna, who has spent most of her career in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, was initially trained in outpatient neurological rehabilitation. She brings this strong understanding of the neuromuscular pathways to orthopedics to create a comprehensive treatment philosophy, which addresses the body as a whole and uses the most relevant techniques for each patient. She uses her training from Washington University as a diagnostician to give each patient a movement diagnosis guiding an individualized treatment program.

She helps her patients who are recovering from impairments such as joint replacements, back and neck pain, postural difficulties, and gait and balance disorders recovery quickly and with a long-term wellness plan.
Joanna is a general member of the APTA and an active member of the orthopedic, oncology and private practice sections of the APTA. Joanna spends her free time with her family and dogs enjoying the beach and teaching her daughter about the world around her.

Dr. Luize Rossanez, PT, DPT

Dr. Rossanez is a Physical Therapist at FYZICAL of Jacksonville. Luize is originally from Brazil and came to the US to complete her undergraduate degree at the University of North Florida. She then attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2016. Luize completed her graduate internship at In Motion PT while at the University of St. Augustine, and upon graduation, returned as one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy.
Dr. Rossanez is an advanced level therapist in Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy which uses specific head, body and eye exercises to help retrain the brain. Using a specific set of manual treatments, balance exercises, and a home exercise program, Luize helps her patients return to an active healthy lifestyle.

Wendy Orth, PTA, LMT

Wendy Orth completed her associated of Science Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts in 1993. In 2004, she graduated from Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage in Jacksonville, FL with her Associated of Science Degree in Massage Therapy. Wendy has worked in a variety of setting and finds she feels most at home in an Outpatient Orthopedic setting being able to utilize her hands on skills and provide one-on-one care for her patients. She especially enjoys the challenge of working with post-surgical “weekend warrior” patients in helping them return to their individualized activity. Wendy is passionate able helping you achieve your goals of health and wellbeing to live your best life possible.
In her spare time, Wendy enjoys going to the beach, cooking, gardening, music, art, and spending time with family, friends and her dog, Baxter.

Kelly Downs, LMT
Kelly Downs lives in Jacksonville and has been a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Florida since 2007. She has an Associate of Science degree from the Heritage Institute and is a certified therapist with the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and the Association of Massage and Bodywork Professionals. She has a strong commitment to her clients to assist in their rehabilitation and ease the transition back to healthy posture and movement. She has also been training in the MyoKinesethetic System of Therapy and Aromatherapy. In her spare time Kelly enjoys reading, swimming, dancing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
Spencer Achey, LMT

Spencer Achey is certified in Massage Therapy receiving his education from Florida State College of Jacksonville in 2012 along with gaining an Associates in Arts and knowledge in Sports Medicine. He has had experience working in Medical Massage along with Luxury Spa Services and loves helping his clients. Spencer specializes in stretching, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release techniques, and he is able to recommend stretching and body conditioning programs for client who need more customization. In the years doing massage, he is able to provide prompt recovery to clients whether they are recuperating from surgery or returning to high level sport.
Jerica Sansing - Billing Specialist

Jerica Sansing is our Billing Specialist/Receptionist. She was born and raised in Jacksonville. She graduated from Terry Parker High School. Her future plan is to become a Physical Therapist Assistant and help to heal patients through exercise and stretching. In her free time she likes to go the beach, shop, and spend time with family.
Shanel Naoum - Intake Coordinator

Shanel is currently attending the University of North Florida working towards her Bachelors degree in Health Science as a Public Health major and a Health Education minor. She is bilingual, speaking both English and Arabic, and was born in Long Island, New York. She enjoys to be around the Physical Therapy atmosphere and hopes to make a difference in peoples lives. She loves to be around her family and friends, as well as spending her free time doing Pilates, reading, and going to the beach.
