Massage therapy is offered at In Motion either as part of your physical therapy treatment and can be covered under insurance or on an individual basis as self pay. It will be determined by your physical therapist after your initial evaluation if massage would be a benefit to your recovery. If so, the physical therapist will discuss with you the best options and how massage will be included in your treatment and overall recovery so you can return to your regular activities. Our massage therapist also sees clients independently on a self pay basis. We provide packages for both 30 minute massages and one hour massages. Please call and we can discuss packages that fit your needs. ** SPECIAL** for PWC and WBO members please call for discounts! Our massage therapist has completed training in the following specialized techniques: The MyoKinesthetic System:The MyoKinesthetic System (or MyoKin) was formulated and developed by Dr. Michael Uriarte, D.C., as a quick and specific soft tissue treatment that impacts and 'resets' the nervous system. It can be done with the client fully clothed as a stand alone treatment, or it can be used in conjunction with same-day physical or massage therapy. A MyoKin session treats the muscles along one nerve pathway to clear up any issues in the nervous system causing a negative compensation in posture or range of motion. For example, let's say as a child you fell off of your back porch and knocked a bone out place. Whether a slight mis-alignment or a major one, your brain automatically and instantaneously moves other bones to compensate so that when you stand up, you stand as balanced as possible. The bones are moved by the muscles, acting on impulses from the nerves, creating a negative feedback loop. The brain receives information from the whole body, and then sends responses to correct issues as best it can with compensations. The MyoKin system breaks this cycle of negative feedback and compensation, resetting the nervous system input and allowing for the release of these compensations.
